The benefits of strength training are extensive. Here are some of my favorites - along with citations
Increases brain function - resistance training is consistently shown to improve cognitive and executive function in individuals of all ages
Reduces anxiety and depression - resistance training has been shown to meaningfully help individuals that suffer from mild to moderate anxiety and depression
Improves overall mood - some of the noted effects from resistance training include " increased cognition, mood, and general quality of life "
Lengthens lifespan - a meta-analysis found a 21% reduction to all cause mortality from strength training alone and 40% when paired with aerobic training
Nevermore Fitness' service is a subscription-based monthly service, rather than a per-session basis. This is a reflection of the consistency that is required to have long-term success in the realm of health and fitness. The training that happens in the gym is only a small portion of the larger system that is required to make lasting changes. My aim is to give my clients integration between the physical, psychological, and nutritional components of training.
The service includes:
1-on-1 in-person personal training on a recurring basis
exclusive access to private digital assets I have developed
nutritional education and guidance
pre-written customized workouts for every workout (even when we don't meet)
fully logged and trackable workout history
24/7 client support via text
advice and guidance on everything in-between
I offer one consultation per person. You do not need a gym membership to receive a consultation; it is free of charge and free of obligation.
A consultation is a great way to get answers to any questions you might have, learn about my methodology, and figure out if we are a good fit for each other.
If you have a question but don't want to book a consultation, send me a message on my contact page.
You must complete a consultation with me to purchase training.
I stand by the quality of my services. If you are unsatisfied with your first month of training, I will offer a full refund - no questions asked.
I operate out of Innovative Health, a neighborhood gym in Seattle's Central District. If you have access to a private space or home gym and would prefer to meet there, I am open to discussing it.
Here is a link to an article called Iron and the Soul. It's a fantastic write up by the talented Henry Rollins, and explores a lot of very important themes - more eloquently than I ever could. I strongly suggest reading this if you are interested in weight training.
“The chains of habit are too weak to be felt until they are too strong to be broken”
Samuel Johnson
"No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable."
Socrates
“Exercise is a celebration of what your body can do, not a punishment for what you ate”

"Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live."
Jim Rohn
"Working out is modern couture. No outfit is going to make you look or feel as good as having a fit body. Buy less clothing and go to the gym instead.
