One of the difficulties with fitness is not a lack of information - but rather an unending flood of confusing or contradictory information. Here are some resources that I find palatable, simple, and helpful. If it's on this list, it's worth your time to watch or read.
Beginner Health and Fitness Guide by Liam Rosen. This is a great all-encompassing write-up. If you have a question about fitness, it's likely answered in this somehow. I agree with nearly everything in this guide.
Iron and the Soul by Henry Rollins. Not informative per se, but a love letter to the weight room. Offers insight into the emotional and psychological components of lifting.
This Too Shall Pass by Craig Weller. A profound reflection on life, impermanence, and regret. This one isn't strictly about lifting, but it will make you think.
The 1st Noble Truth of the Barbell: Life is Suffering by Chaz Franke. Draws parallels between Buddhist teachings and difficulties presented within the weight room.
Training and Discipline by Mark Rippetoe. A discussion on training, attention, focus, and exertion.
Stronglifts 5x5 - exceptional, stupid simple, easy to follow beginner strength program.
Starting Strength - similar to stronglifts. no nonsense, easy to follow program.
Smolov Jr - squat or bench protocol. NOT FOR NOVICES. basically PR or ER.
Jeremy Ethier - informative, science-focused, great visuals. Exceptional resource for newer lifters.
Jeff Nippard - also incredibly science-focused. Sometimes nitpicky, but overall a fantastic resource.
Alexander Bromley - mostly strength focused. Great metaphors/analogies. Does his own drawings, and explains things well.
Layne Norton - nutritional focus, very consistent with views and always backs it with data.
